A benzonitrile derivative substituted with five carbazole groups
that emits thermally activated delayed fluorescence is synthesized and
characterized. An organic light-emitting diode containing the
benzonitrile derivative as an emissive dopant exhibits light-blue
electroluminescence and a high external quantum efficiency of 14.8%.
